State Of Readiness

Saturday before: 3 national lifters all ready for the meet this week. This state of readiness should translate to PR on the platform.
Brigid: confident, hitting all lifts with no misses, and within a few percent of her weight class. Ready.
Jake: hitting all lifts, strong, and well within his weight class. Ready.
Keith: ties PR total in practice, hits PR in front squat. Ready.

On Saturday, Brian hits snatches, dialing in the "stand up, shrug down, tight, close finish" mantra. The goal today was a PR CJ. The bar is loaded and the first attempt is loose, falling in front: no good. Second attempt: if he keeps the clean tight, close, and finishes if off, he will make it. Paydirt: 110 is locked out overhead.

Ron, with the empty stomach, hits a seemingly routine 80 in snatch. His CJ was good until the bar was loaded with a near PR attempt. Two attempts @100: clean is a struggle, but he stands up. The jerk: well, he will get it next time! Front squats got him well acquainted with the black out demons.

Steve, in his last Saturday lifting session til December, didn't quite have the pull to get under the bar for his CJ. Monday.
