An Active Thursday with another PR

Fresh from the squat PR of Wednesday, Megan attacked another squat PR. She got it and another sticker. Pressing from the rack proved to be no problem either.
Kayla, in only her 5th session, squatted over half her bodyweight for 6 reps. Considering a PVC pipe was a challenge just a few weeks ago, excellent progress.
Ron made a deposit into the "Prove Myself" account with a gutsy, near PR CJ (97%).

Knuckling Down to a PR

After commenting very loudly about the squat portion of last night's lifting, Megan knuckled down and made the bar her patsy. A triple triple with a PR indicating that there is plenty of room at the top end. Soon, her squat of last night will be her CJ of the night. Earned herself another sticker, heading for reward level 4.

New PR and Reward Level 3

After frustrating himself with a lack of punch in the snatch (!), Ben moves to CJ. He moves nicely through the progression til 112. Looks good. He hits 120, tying his current PR. The plan calls for 125 and the bar is loaded. What he couldn't do on Test Day became his victim today. Ben hit 125 solidly, getting his 15th sticker, and reward level 3. The Wolf is sighting in on the Prodigy.

Calling It: PR Sunday

A great little test day for the lifters in the club. All four lifters did a great job with everyone gutting out some type of PR. Warm up for everyone looked great with good bar speed all around. Here are the details.

Ben, looking to hit 95/120/215, was able to hit 87, missing 92, in snatch. Not a PR. Not to be outdone, he HAD to hit a PR CJ. After a somewhat "reverse curly" CJ @ 110, bar gets loaded to 120 for a PR lift. Smoother than the 110, he hits it. The 125 was not made. So, a 87/120/207 with PR in CJ and total.

Keith, looking to crack a couple of PR barriers, hit 70 in the snatch. His 75 attempts were doomed from the start, so he had to set his sights on the CJ. A smooth 82 then a smooth 88 sealed the deal. He attempted 90 twice to no avail though he was able to clean it twice. So, he gets a 70/88/158 tying a PR total.

Megan, looking to improve once again, set her sights on a 115 total. Warm up lifts smoothed out at around 42. She was able to hit 45 with a step forward then hit 47 easily for a PR. She used that momentum to hit a PR 61 in the CJ. Then a mis-loaded barbell had her attempting 70, despite her calling for a 65. Yikes, fire that loader. She nearly stood up with it even with her back rounded to look like the letter "C". When the bar was properly loaded, she hit the 65. A PR machine, she hit 4 today ending up with 47/65/112, all PRs. She earned a pair of straps.

Ron, setting his sights on the 100 CJ barrier, was smooth in warm up for the snatch. His 72 was solid, 75 was a miss (shocker), the 80 comeback lift was made. No PRs yet. In the CJ, a solid 87 followed by a PR 96. He still needed 2 PR to get his Chipotle gift card. The bar is loaded to 100. He pops it solidly off the hips for a great clean then jams it overhead for the PR! The lifts of 80/100/180, along with the PR 96, give him the three points he needed for the gift card.

Well done by all! Looking good for an excellent showing at the Arnold.
